our house...in the middle of the.....

i was never really sure what words come after that STREET? STRIP? who knows. At school right now Kendall's class is trying to all learn their address. So we've been practicing and she is getting her numbers confused - between our house number and my phone number (which is our HOME number since we don't have a landline)...she is getting confused. Lots of sixes, sevens and zeroes! So tonight I put some shaving cream in a pan and she is doing pretty good with our house number! It made a mess of our hands - but she laughed and had a great time doing it!

She was getting the 6 backward a few times - but I know she'll get it eventually.

Between her and her brother - something makes Rob and I laugh A TON everyday. Tonight I made chips and cheese for myself to share. She asked for her third and the plate was almost gone (she eats slow, it's not my fault!) and she looked at me and said "mommy, you are SUCH a pig!" oink oink baby ooooiiinkk oink!

I wanna hold your haaaaaand...I wanna hold your hand

Before the moment that Kendall wrapped her little chubby fingers around mine and held on - I wanted to be with her all the time. I want to hold her hand so she never hurts, never does something naughty or illegal (cuz I never did! ha!) Hold her hand so that I'm always there to protect her. Even though I know this will never happen - the day will soon come when I have to drop her off at the corner and not let anybody see me kiss her or hug her cuz ew gross i'm her moooommmm. How old when you don't hold their hands anymore? I love the fact that when we are going to a store I carry Brenym and Kendall grabs my hand. Even before Brenym she held my hand when we went somewhere. I love her hands. When I drop her off places, I walk her to the door and hold her hand. She's five - I find it appropriate. With that said - can someone please tell me at what age you can just drop them off? When her dad drops her off - he doesn't walk her to the door - that makes me sad. Today I heard her SAY "you can come to the door with me" and he replied with "nope I'm alright." Well ya know what, it's not ABOUT YOU. SHE needs to feel important and special. And to me if that means my daughter asks me to walk to the door, even if I don't want to, I will suck it up and walk to the stinking door. Don't get me wrong - I'm not getting mother of the year anytime soon......but I have learned with kids - it's usually the little things that they remember....We can't hold their hands forever - but I'm sure gonna milk it for all it's worth and until my kids say "dude yer our mom don't touch us, yer so not cool"....i'll be holding their hands....whether they ask me to or not.....

Blasts from the Past

It is my mission right now to get all my pictures in ONE SPOT. Right now they are all over the place. Kendall keeps asking for pictures when she was a baby and I keep telling her they are at grandma's. So Rob grabbed my old computer from their house today and I have begun this tedious process. Any suggestions on where to save all my pictures? I have tons of them - so I don't think a place like snapfish could handle them all - but I'm not sure. So anyhow - once I get some of them loaded to this computer - i'll post some oldies but goodies!!!!

Now I Lay Me Down to Sleepwalk

The last 3 nights Kendall has woke up - talked to us (or attempted to talk to us) and then gone back to bed. When I talk to her about it in the morning - she has no clue what I'm talking about. The first night she just came out and said i wanna um i wanna um and then she got back in bed. Then, she got up and told us she wanted to walk and then went back to bed. Last night she asked me what we were eating when we got up in the morning. I've never dealt with any sleepwalking - my family is usually just a bunch of classic snorers. Sleepwalking is way more interesting I must say.
Kendall's smart little self also is already questioning Santa!!!! She's too little!!! She told Nana (Rob's stepmom) that she got a DS for Christmas and Nana asked her from who and she responded "Santa, but I think it's my mom."!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And please don't think I'm some crazy mom who bought her 5 year old a $150 DS......I may be CRAZY.....but I am not spending that kinda money on something that will be broken in a heartbeat if it's dropped on our wood floors. I got a gently used one for $40 bucks - booyah. If she drops $40 bucks I won't be as mad. I was skeptical that she'd be able to use it - but so far she's only had a few questions. She was "pictochatting" with her friend Meredith the other night and I am amazed she is 5. I just got a notice in the mail that kindergarten registration starts next week. WOW.
Brenym is at a fun fun age. He is walking all over now - he hardly ever crawls. He LOVES music and loves to dance. If we say "dance baby" he stops what he's doing and dances and laughs. He is just a funny funny boy. Tonight at Home Depot I turned around and he started standing up in the cart so I walked to him and said "brenym robert you sit down" and he pursed his lips into an "O" and said ooooooooooohhhh......like he was both impressed with himself for standing and in mockery of me. Little stinker. He is still learning to sleep more than 6-7 hours at a time. We changed from bottles to a special Nuby cup and he is getting less and less of that. We tried going right to another sippy cup but he'd take the milk in and then let it drip right out of his mouth. With the Nuby cup he's not doing that anymore. Thank goodness! Now we are working on the pacifier - right now he's good with just having it when he sleeps. Just like his sister, he is not a fan of macaroni and cheese. Kendall likes it now, but at this age she didn't. He can inhale an entire can of fruit at one sitting. I am still not sure where he puts it as he's only in the 50th percentile for his weight! Brenym follows Kendall everywhere. On Wednesdays when she gets back from her dads he walks so fast to the door when he hears her voice. She still really dotes on him. I love that. I love them. I love my life.
