I'm a YES girl......

First off, I must have been in a hurry last time because I have been so irritated with myself for using JEANS instead of GENES. What a moron. OH well - y'all knew what I meant, right? There was something else I said wrong, but this isn't English and like I said, you know what I meant. Anywhoozle......let's see, oh yes, Brenym had his 15 month check up yesterday. wow does that kid hate shots. not like any kid loves them, but he screams loud and for a LONG TIME, like love you long time. He is in the 50th percentile for weight, 90th for height and the genius to be is in the 97th for his fat head. He has surgery for his leaky eye next Tuesday. I don't like the thought of my 15 month old being put under and then having a screw driver type instrument shoved in his nose to break some bone so that his tear duct can work properly, but I'm told it's done quite often and recovery is fairly easy. We shall see.
Yesterday Kendall begged me to bring her pillow pet to daycare and I adamently and quickly told her no, pick something else. Then we got to daycare and I felt HORRIBLE because her friend there had brought, you guessed it, her pillow pet. So as I thought about me yelling at her for crying and pouting, I decided, from now on when you think about saying no Katie, ask yourself why? What will it hurt? Did bringing her pillow pet REALLY warrant a no and a "please quit crying and whining or you'll bring nothing?" It sure didn't. So now I am going to try to say Yes more often (please get your minds out of the gutter). If she asked for a sucker instead of dinner or to sleep on the kitchen table, those are times I'll say no, but seriously.....the pillow pet was not a really big deal.

Happy birthday Papa

Rob, his dad and his brother
his dad's eyes aren't always so googly.....he was making a joke and I caught the picture at the crazy eye moment

Well we've been busy lately - and Rob does homework at night and I HATE this laptop so I rarely post. I will work on that. Where shall I start......well Rob and I went to Boston for his dad's 60th birthday party two weekends ago. (funny to me that I am 8 years younger than Rob, yet MY DAD is older than his dad!!) Kendall stayed with her dad and Brenym went to my parents. We all had a good time. My parents were exhausted because if Brenym is up, he is moving. But my mom told me their house was way too quiet when we came to get him. While in Boston I was able to meet Rob's youngest brother who he grew up with. He lives in LA so I'm sure it will be a long time before we see him again. And it is crazy to me how strong the Pell jeans are! All those boys resemble each other! Their names.....well...let's just say they try to keep them similar...and it can get to be a mouthful if they're all in one room! Bob (robs dad) Rob, Rick (rob's uncle) Rich (rob's bro) Nick (rob's bro). Wow.

Rob and his oldest son Kyle

Me, my sister in law and mother in law

We had a family picture taken while we were there (minus the 6 grandchildren that weren't there) and it turned out pretty good. I'd love to show you - but I have been able to crack the photographers site with my copy and paste trick - which usually works.

Now that we are home, we have just been busy with the kids and home improvements. As you might remember, I got granite countertops last May - and I couldn't decide on tile for the backsplash so we've lived with drywall back splash (i like to keep it classy) until two weeks ago. Rob and his friend Kevin (who owns the countertop business, if any of y'all are interested) did our tile and it looks awesome!!!
here's a glimpse of it - geez i made the counter messy fast!!!

Now all we have left in the ktichen is the floor - the GROSS blue floor HAS GOT to go. We are at odds about this at the moment - I would like a nice fake wood, but Rob would like tile (heated of course). I say the fake wood is more durable, meaning when my clumsy self drops a glass on the fake wood, it will bounce HA HA but when I drop a glass on the tile - there will be no bouncing. I really could care less, I just want it to look nice and not cost a fortune. And hey ~ he's the one doing the work so I guess beggars can't be choosers right?
