A great day!

There may be things about Rob that irritate me, but I really am one lucky girl. Both kids were bathed when I got out of bed. He had the van packed up so all I had to do was get myself ready. He made a HUGE breakfast for me, my parents and my brother and his girlfriend. He even got my dad and brother to help clean it all up. My mom and I ran to the mall for a bit without children! He also got me a stand up mixer that I've been craving for awhile now, but couldn't bear spending that much cash on myself (not that the $ amount of a gift matters to me). I guess the best part to me was that he made MY MOM have a great and restful day. All irritations aside, he definitely is always thinking of others and that's one of the things I love most about my husband and I hope he passes that thoughtfulness onto our children. Thanks for a great day babe.

ramblings

So I was mistaken and my official due date is 10/11/12 - I think that's a pretty cool due date if you ask me. But this girl isn't hoping to be pregnant that long by any means! :) Heartbeat was 155 again on Friday. Our ultrasound is scheduled for May 18th. I cannot wait to make sure this baby is healthy and to find out whether we get to buy blue or pink. I am voting for blue right now.
Kendall and Brenym have been at each other's throats lately, BIG TIME. They were fighting over toys in the bathtub the other day and when Brenym finally gave them to Kendall she PUT THEM BEHIND HER AND DIDN'T PLAY WITH THEM. I grabbed them up like a crazed loon normal mother would and threw them in the trash. Kendall looked at me like, do I dare ask if they have to stay in the trash? And I said in a nice motherly tone, "no those won't be coming out of the trash, you cried for them for 5 minutes and then he gives them to you and you don't even use them? RIDICULOUS!" What else, oh yeah she doesn't want him in her room. He is obsessed with a cat toy and if she so much as looks at it he flips his lid. Whenever they are arguing whether something is "mine" or not - I pipe up in oh so chipper tone that I BOUGHT IT SO TECHNICALLY it's all mine!!! MINE MINE MINE! Geez, pregnancy hormones much?
Kendall has her first t-ball game this Saturday. I'm so excited to see how "put together" they are at an actual game because at practice it just looks like one kid is chasing butterflies, one kid is kicking dirt and Kendall is in her own little world.

Just Kendall

I had such a fun day with Kendall on Sunday. Rob was at a bowling tournament so it was me and the kids. While Brenym napped we had some alone time. First, we did her homework which just amazes me. There are words she struggles with but she can sound out most words. Aaaaaaamazing to have her read to me. After that I thought we'd do a craft I bought. But Kendall made me realize that all kids want is your attention. Her request was "sit and color with me
Mom." Best afternoon in a long time. We colored on blank paper and she made up stories with her pictures. The laundry needed folding and the sheets needed changing, but laughing and coloring with her was wayyyy more fun. Kids don't need constant go go go
and entertainment, just some time and attention.

Who cares about candy

When you have a flag! We went to the St. Pattys parade on Saturday. The kids got a ton of candy. Someone gave Kendall a flag also. She has not asked once for any candy. She has, however, carried that flag around proudly. She has been singing, "You're a Grand ole Flag" and reciting The Pledge of Allegiance about 20 times a day also. I guess she's patriotic? Or just excited that she knows all the words?

House hunting

How tiresome! Houses look so good online but in person? Not so hot. We are looking for 4 bedrooms, which has not been super easy since we aren't spending 200k on a house. My mom says that we will soon walk into a house and just feel like its ours. The one house I really wanted to see today, sold yesterday! Someone paid the asking price IN CASH. Guess that one wasn't meant to be! Let the search continue!

Clambake!

After Rob played outside with the kids, they came in and watched a show in our bed. Pretty soon we won't all fit!

Happy thoughts

I started the year off saying I'd talk about what makes me happy, but I feel like this is where I can really vent. I try not to be negative on Facebook cuz I see SO MUCH negative and it irritates me. So a happy thought is I ate 3 Swiss cake rolls today. Jennifer made me.
Now to vent. Some people have a lot of nerve. First, I and my whole family were deleted from someone's Facebook. Then today I received an invitation to a shower for said person. Really? So you were mad enough to delete us all from fb but I'm still good enough to buy you a gift? DOUBT IT!!

This boy

Kendall has always played by the rules for the most part. A crayon is for coloring on paper. Don't get me wrong, she can pretend with any object you give her. But when whip out some dollar store treasure with markers, she means bizznass. The brother? Faaareak! Why color the paper when it looks oh so nice on these here hands? Or how about I throw them on the ground and laugh hysterically when the cat chases them. Maybe as he gets older he'll play by some rules. But then again, it could be fun to see what he does next...

GIRL TIME

I had such a great morning with Kendall today. Usually she is a teenager when it comes to waking up. That girl LOVES her sleep, just like mom. Today though, she woke up early and ran into my bed. Rob and Brenym were already gone so she was so happy that she could lie there for a few minutes. I opened my eyes and she was staring right at me, smiling. I said "whatcha thinkin about?" She responded, "thinking about what cute shirt I'm gonna wear today." Wait a minute, are you sure you're six? That is what I think about every morning after the alarm goes off five times. Then I just started tickling her and hearing her laugh in the morning instead of whining that she doesn't want to get up was music to this mom's ears.

Can I get a nap?

This pregnancy is just like my other two in that I AM TIRED. Like, sleep 11 hours at night and still could use a nap tired. A girl I work with explained it like taking NyQuil and trying to stay awake. They say at this point the baby is the size of a lentil bean so how can it make a person so tired? Thankfully Rob is very understanding and has let me go to bed early and take naps :) one of the many reasons he is awesome.
Kendall is insistent that the baby is a girl and we need to name her LuLubaby. Pretty sure that's not gonna happen.

Mike Tyson and a rant

So my toothless wonder bit someone. I'm happy she stuck up for herself, but I had to chat with her about good choices and biting? Not a good choice. She was also remorseful about it, so that made me a bit happy. A girl on the bus was poking at her, Kendall asked her to stop, she didn't, so Kendall thought it a good idea to bite her ear. I can just imagine her nibbling with her absent front teeth. So I felt good about our talk and that she will talk to an adult if she is picked on again.
Onto the rant....
Coparenting? Not so awesome when not on the same page. I tell Kendall to talk to an adult if someone his hitting or picking on her. Her dad tells her to hit back. NOT COOL!!! It's like my whole conversation with her went right down the drain!!!! I told her daddy was being silly and in this house, we do not hit or there are consequences. She said I know mommy. I sure hope she does. Conflicting "rules" for my poor six year old :(
